Last week we were in Aywaille, Belgium for a short holiday. The weather wasn't that great, it was cold but good weather to make some walks. It is always nice to see the goats climbing the hills but this year we have seen an animal in the wild we never saw before,
a beaver.... He was destroying a tree on the other side of the Amblève river. The close up pictures aren't that good, he or she was a bit too far away..........
But it was great to see, although the people of the camping aren't to happy with the beaver as you can imagine............
pictures of the paintings I made yet, will do that after the Art Route!

Don't think of beavers as destroying a tree but as creating a marsh or wetland. In the early part of last century Americans were busy killing beavers and draining marshes to build houses. Then they realized the marshes were vital to the health of an ecosystem and only the beavers could create them..They are really a remarkable animal.

I think Mr. Beaver isn’t destroying that poor tree. Maybe he’s just asking for pieces of that tree to build up his house. Don’t you think? Just be careful Mr. Beaver, you might drown. The water current is a little bit strong. Thanks a lot for being concerned with nature. You’re a nature lover!
